January 14, 2019

Hello everyone!!

I am still alive! I apologize for not writing these past few weeks life has been crazy and I haven´t had a lot of time with a computer on pdays. Life has been hard and rewarding. I had my first baptism and his name was Lucas! He is super cool and he is really strong in the gospel now which is really important to me. We have been working with all sorts of different people and I have been trying my best not to melt in the sun. It has been cool seeing and experiencing different culture here in Brasil.

I have lost more than 15 kilos so far here in Brasil and I am excited to lose more.

All of the missionaries since I got here have spoken of the pizza here with a chocolate stuffed crust with awe. I decided to save and be a little extra thrifty with my money last week so I could buy one, and oh man is it good.

I have been studying the Book Of Mormon sooo much and it has been such a blessing in my life. There is an article by a general authority at the end of the Liahona from July 2018 and I cant remember who wrote it right now but it talks about the blessings we can recieve from studying the Book Of Mormon in our lives. I know that because I have been studying it I have been able to help people follow and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

My Portuguese is getting better every day and every once and a while I will have someone say I have a strange accent and ask me what state I am from because they think I am Brazilian somehow haha. I usually joke around and say Manaus(which is in the amazon rain forest)

This transfer I will still be in the same area as this last transfer. Vila Dirce Carapicuiba

I wish you all the best for this week,

Elder Meyers
