Hello everyone.
I apologize for the fact that General Conference comes around on schedule and more frequently than my emails but I am still alive!
I have been doing great here and am loving the mission. I am still here in Itapevi and I am currently with Elder Nunes. He is from the south of Brazil and is the first Brazilian I have met that has snow every once and a while where he lives. He is great and has a strong desire to serve. He had a lot of struggles when he first got to the mission and after his training the mission president put him with me so I could help him out. He has improved a bunch and I feel like I am learning more from him than he is from me.
The work here is great! I have been teaching this week a 12 year old girl named fabrícia and her family. She is great and loves the church. Her family is open to learning more about Christ and have invited me to there home to teach them. Today Fabrícia made us all a big carrot cake with chocolate sauce poured on top! It was super delicious and I couldn't help but eat two slices.
I have really been enjoying this área and am super excited with the work here. I love the people here and when the day comes to leave it will be difficult. Here in a little bit I will hit the year mark in my mission and I have been looking back at my time here in Brazil. My accomplishments and people I wasnt ready to help in time. I have learned the importance to prepare myself so that I am what others need. It's a responsibility that is still hard for me to grab with two hands, but I am getting better.
I love all of you I pray for you and wish you the best.
With love and support,
Elder Meyers
