Hello everyone!!

Some surprise news, after I finished emailing last week I found out that my companion was having an emergency trasnfer the next day! I am in the same area, but I have a new companion! His name is Elder Amorim. He is really nice and from the far northeast corner of Brasil. This last week has been really good and I am excited for next week.

For a food item this week I will talk about Caldo de cana. Caldo de cana is suger cane juice! People will have vans with big juicers in the back and will crush the sugar cane of ice and it is supper good and crazy sweet. I normally get it with lime so it isn't so sweet and I like the taste more.

Besides that I don't have a whole lot to say besides that rain makes you wet, and the sun makes you sweat.

Hello Everyone

This past week was pretty good. On Thursday we went to an inactive families house that moved here from Peru a year ago and two of them didn't speak hardly any Portuguese so they just spoke Spanish, and I understood about 75% of what they said!! I was so happy and it felt like I was back at home in a friends house lol. A lot of Brazilians I have talked to about Hispanics and Spanish have said that they can understand pretty much everything they say but it doesn't go the other way around, which is really weird to me.

This Saturday we got smartphones! I am super excited to use them and only my zone and one maybe two others have them! In all of Brazil! I have started reading the book Saints which I had no interest in before my mission but I read the 5th chapter in a Liahona from last July and ever since I have been wanting to read more! I started reading it yesterday and it is super good! I know most of you have read it but if ou haven't you should start.

In the book of Alma(kinda vague I know) I don't remember what chapter Moroni sends an epistle to Pahoran the chief judge and chastizes him for not supporting the defense of their borders and the men doing it. Pahoran understood the importance of responding with patience and being meek and lowly in heart When he recieved the epistle because Moroni didn't have knowledge of the uproar he was dealing with in the Capital. It is important for us to stay patient and keep ourselves meek and lowly in heart with people in our lives that don't have an understanding of what we do, or why we do it. Instead of acting harshly it is always better to stay calm and share the knowledge that you have with others. Help them to understand, don't punish their ignorance.
